You’ve Got Questions, I’ve Got Answers

The author of a letter to the editor of QCOnline laments in the headline:

On Nov. 4, What’s A Poor Values Voter To Do?

The writer complains there is no one to vote for in Illinois for the “values voter” and that the IL GOP has “targeted Christian candidates for defeat in the primaries” as being “unelectable”.
So the writer announces he will not be voting for any “ungodly” Democrats or Republicans, because—Bible and its prophecies!

Which is always a problem, since the entire political class is “ungodly”, unless your god is $$$$.

But I feel his pain! So my solution is for the writer to abandon Illinois since there is no hope of it turning Red, and instead move to a Red state like Texas where his “values” will be honored and courted by the political class.

Here in Texas, at least in my area, Christian candidates are not “targeted”, they are elected, like my (too right wing for me) state senator. I still support and vote for her because she does a good job overall. Better too “right” than too “left” in my view.

So don’t play the martyr—put up or shut up. Waiting for a “godly” candidate to suddenly appear in Illinois is like waiting for The Second Coming.

  1. How Godly are you QCE.

Are you one that doesn’t believe in the dinosaurs because the earth is only a few thousand years old?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  2. If you had been reading my blog for some time you would know that I am a lapsed Lutheran and make absolutely no claim to being “godly”.

    Nice try, though. 😀

  3. Jim Geraghty has a tweetfest over at NRO called God Save Us From The Loud “I’m Staying Home This Year” Conservatives, pointing out how misguided these people are.

Their level of self-righteous prancing and preening is rivaled only by your typical “progressive”.

Enough people! Geraghty makes the case that if your local GOPer isn’t right wing enough for you, there are 33 senate races, 400+ house races and 30+ governor races, so go find some “conservative” that you like—even if he/she is in another state/district, etc. and contribute time/$$$ to them.

This conservative smugness is really unseemly considering the dire straits our governments are in.
