Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-NARAL) in a statement regarding President Obama’s “strategy” for dealing with ISIL:
“I’m encouraged that a broad coalition is being formed to defeat this terrorist threat and that the President has no intent to commit U.S. combat ground troops…[and I] firmly believe that Congress needs to play a role in determining further action we take.”
Where to begin? There will be no “broad coalition” since the Arabs trust Obama even less than Boehner does. It just won’t happen.
As for “the President has no intent”—how clueless do you have to be in order to believe what Obama says is true? I’ll bet Bustos believed if you like your plan you can keep your plan. Period. Obama has absolutely no credibility, and every statement he makes has an expiration date. That’s just a fact.
Harry Reid, the Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer will make very sure that congress will not be voting on any Obama war plan—especially before the midterm elections.
So either Bustos is living in a fairy tale world or she is attempting to bamboozle the rubes.
Neither is attractive.
