You Should Have Killed It When You Had The Chance

Illinois Review:

“Former congressman and GOP congressional candidate Bobby Schilling has taken to the airwaves arguing that Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is an Obamacare apologist who refuses to address the impact President Obama’s health care law has had on her constituents.”

I had been in Texas for most of Schilling’s term in congress, so I could have missed something, but he obviously didn’t strangle Obamacare in its crib when he had the chance, so where does he get the moral authority to bash Bustos when he failed miserably? Schilling was a member of the House majority to boot.

I get that Obamacare is still unpopular, but as far as I can tell, Schilling has no standing to criticize Bustos for something he failed to accomplish himself.

  1. Really? The House has voted for a full repeal of Obamacare many times.

He can’t force the Senate to take it up for a vote. Schilling’s 112 House also did a good job getting the horrible pieces of Obamacare out too.

  2. Well gee, Fleabagger, if Bobby couldn’t fix Obamacare with all his meaningless votes as a member of the House majority, what the hell was Bustos supposed to do?

Schilling, if elected, will not do more to abolish Obamacare than he did when first elected—even the most brain dead partisan can see this. That Schilling is still chewing on this like a dog with a bone indicates he is entirely out of ideas on how to win this election.

Isn’t it about time to unleash The Flawless ™? Or, god help him, is THIS The Flawless ™.?

  3. Obamacare is here to stay. It is highly unlikely that there will ever be enough votes to override it. Like immigration, instead of pi$$ing into the wind, the Republicans should work hard at fixing the problems with the system and grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.

  4. The Galesburg Register-Mail has a comprehensive article about the back-and-forth between Bustos and Schilling about Obamacare.

This is one (of many) shots taken at Schilling by Team Bustos:

“With an election only months away, Tea Partier Bobby Schilling may be trying to reinvent himself, but his record of voting to raise health care costs speaks for itself.”

    In response, this:

“However, Schilling shot back at Bustos…..ZZZzzzzzzz

Gentle readers, reading this article was like watching a tennis match and in the process, I realize I no longer have the interest or desire to sort out all the Schilling/Bustos argle-bargle.

So you’re on your own, but for those who care, I offer this link so you can make up your own mind.

If there are still undecideds out there who have a mind to make up. 😀

  5. Ditto. There doesn’t appear to a dime’s worth of difference between Bustos and Schilling which is why the 17th CD will be treated to these fringe fights over who held a forum for vets first and who will be the least likely to abolish obamacare, when it will be SCOTUS that will be making that call.

All in all, a pretty pathetic duo.
