  1. Gotta disagree here—for a long time I’ve believed that a good, strong dose of Napalm is just what RICO government needs to fix what ails it. 😀

  2. It has been suggested to me that this isn’t just about Banaszek’s incompetence, but about the fact that he refuses to fall on his sword and follow the party line, which is since he isn’t running for his seat again this year, the Dems wanted him to step aside early—in the time honored RICO Dem style, and allow Moose Miranda to become chair. According to what I have heard, Miranda is facing a tough GOP opponent for his board seat and the RICO Dem Poobahs want to make sure Moose wins, rather than the GOPer.

This is insider stuff which I have no way of judging, but just passing along the word on the street about the House v. Banaszek kerfuffle.

  3. Snarky headline of the day from WQAD

Former Prison Worker Says He’s Confident He’s Qualified To Run The County

    The Lede:

“Phil Banaszak is the steward in charge of millions of taxpayer dollars as Rock Island County Board Chairman, but his background is not in finance or public administration…He worked in the boiler room as a fireman at the East Moline Correction Center.”

This is SOP for RICO; the only qualification that matters is how politically well connected you are—just ask Phil Hare’s son.

  4. Stick a fork in him!! He is done. and good ridence! He stated thet he felt like a man with no party! The party is over. He should have thought of that when he wined his way from the republican party to the Dems. Don’t let him quit now. let him suffer some the kick him out. Moose is of the same mold and would be no better. Lets have a member of the opposing party fill in untill the election and a new board can the elect someone that may be a leader for a change.

  5. Now Banaszak is having a Rodney King moment asking “why can’t we all just get along” and suggests the board to take a conflict management course to the tune of $3600.

Amazingly, the idiot GOP board members are buying this bit of diversion. The reason there is conflict on the board is due to the behavior of some of its members. In the past, when all, or nearly all the 25 seats where held by Dems, there was no conflict because they acted as rubber stamps for the chairman.

It has been so long that there was divided government on the board, they don’t remember what divided government looks like—they think is some sort of psychological mishap—and the GOP agrees

The reality is—it’s just politics, not a mental abberation!

    Sheesh!
