  1. I saw his name in a recent RICOGOP email. Apparently he’s gonna be our nominee for the 72nd District! Can’t wait to donate! 🙂

  2. The deadline for Illinois State Rep has come and gone.

I never heard that the Republicans had caucused and if they did without notice it would be a clear violation of the law and we would need to have a full scale investigation into this.

I hope all you have a good Sunday which should start with a good repentance in a church.

    God bless you all!

  3. According to RICO GOP Facebook:

“May 28th is the deadline for the petition signing contest for Alex Fulton candidate for 72nd district….”

This was the first I had heard of Alex Fulton, which was why I was asking for information about him.

From what I can tell, May 28 is the deadline for the contest, don’t know if that is also the deadline for petitions.

  4. This is the best the RICO could do? Wow what a great job by B.S. Bloom.

Did anybody as Shweppe to run? He’s the next Jason Plumber

  5. Sidenote: it just dawned on me that Alex could be a woman’s name as well. I meant no offense by assuming it was a man’s name. God knows I don’t need any more people mad at me over stupid crap.

  6. If this clown goes, Alex Fulton will get run over by the machine that is Democrat Rep. Pat Verschoore. I can’t believe Republican Boss Bloom couldn’t find a better candidate.

Schweppe, Lioen and Carpentier appear to lack the “intestinal fortitude” to take on B.S Bloom. Democrat Boss Mike Madigan must be laughing all the way to re-election as Speaker of the Illinois House!!!!

  7. All this is very entertaining, but so far nobody has told me anything about Alex Fulton. Somebody must know something if the RICO GOP is having people out gathering signatures on petitions—or whatever it is.

  8. Alex Cross lives in East Moline, his son was a pretty good baseball player, but this clod isn’t running against the machine that is Democrat Rep Pat Verschoore. Pat will retire mid turn and turn his seat over to Democrat Lawyer Jeff Jacobs!

  9. Alex Fulton = Jonathan Wallace
    Alex Fulton = Harrison Wallace
    Alex Fulton = Mark Lioen
    Alex Fulton = No chance in H_ _ _!

Need more?? College student: lacking a game plan, ability to inspire, knowledge of the office he wants to run for, motivation and most likely the signatures needed to even get on the ballot.

Poor chump, even if he was the most dynamic character, that district is unwinable yet chairman Bloom and former chair Carpenter keep rubbing his shoulders and telling him he can be a contender. Yet another distraction and a waste of time. Warm bodies don’t win races people!

  10. Randy, word on the street is Verschoore is getting senile. Maybe he will forget to retire.

  11. This is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time; should the RICO GOP just lay down and die for Powerful Democrat Poobahs or try to rebuild the social club formerly known as RICO GOP?

It was always frustrating to me to have absolutely NO CHOICE when voting for county offices, and at least once, 17th CD—it was either vote Dem or don’t vote.

I get that Fulton will have a hard slog, although I agree with Belle that Verschoore has increasingly exhibited signs of dementia and could blow at any moment, which could give an opening to the GOP.

From what I’ve learned, Fulton is a poli-sci student graduating this year and the practical experience gained from him running in a real election will be invaluable to whatever he chooses to do in the future. Even if he loses to the demented Verschoore, this will be a win for him.

I noticed that Neil Anderson was conspicuously absent from Belle’s list of losers—I wonder why? Anderson might not be a good candidate for state senate because he has a full time day job with excellent benefits and also has small children. From what I can tell, the fact that Mike Jacobs spent so much time in Springfield, forcing his wife to take up more of the child-rearing burden, contributed to the demise of his marriage.

But whatever, Mike Jacobs are not exactly BFF, but I do believe the RICO GOP should slate candidates in every election, if for no other reason than for them to gain experience, meet contacts and learn the details and nitty-gritty of running for office. The RICO GOP allowed the party become moribund of their own free will, and the only way to bring it back is to hit the Dems again, harder, harder , not throw up their hands, take to their beds and call for their smelling salts.
