The Return Of The Woz

The Wonderful Wizard of Woz suddenly appears!

The Woz:

“Madigan ‘I’m not here for employers, I’m here for workers.’ At least he had confirmed what we all suspected about him.” Link

This is about Madigan’s hokey “non-binding” ballot initiative to raise the minimum wage to $10.00 and beyond! Some people say Mike Madigan is James Bond, but he is increasingly morphing into Austin Powers. How can you have “workers”without “employers”? Evidently it’s doable in Mike’s Springfield Bubble World.

But Establishment Party mouthpiece Rich Miller gives away the game with this quote:

“As we’ve discussed before, this is a ‘win-win’ for Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton. They avoid a fight-to-the-death showdown with groups like the Illinois Retail Merchants Association put Bruce Rauner on the spot by making this a campaign issue and maybe gin up a little turnout in November.”

So to Miller and his Establishment cronies, it doesn’t matter that raising the minimum wage is bad policy—no! All that matters is putting the hurt on Rauner, avoiding a fight with special interests and grab a few more votes for The Establishment.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to leave Illinois when the Establishment is focused on what is good for their re-election prospects rather than what is good for the entire State O’ Illinois

  1. Democratic Party Boss Mike Madigan working his magic.

The poor and the downtrodden will have their chance to come out and vote and have their voices heard on raising the minimum wage.

The minimum wage hasn’t been this low since the 1950’s.

This country is better than this and all of he people that believe that the min wage should be increased will be out in force.

Great job Illinois Democratic Party Boss
    Speaker Mike Madigan.

  2. Things are going to turn around. Broom is out setting the foundation to take back the County Board and for Lazenby to rise to victory.

    Onward to Victory in 2014!

  3. I’ve been intending to mention this for some time so I guess now will do: I think the RICO GOP/Schilling people have been doing a great job of creating events that even non-partisan, non-joiners like me would attend.

Beginning with the corned beef & cabbage fest—which you would expect Dems to stage—Irish being genetic Dems and all, the Lavender Crest event, the taco bar thing, Trivia Night, etc. All these look like a lot of fun so bravo to whoever is steering the RICO GOP away from the lame Dem-style chili feeds, spaghetti dinners, etc.

My only question—and I’m looking at you, Mr. F-b, is are these events drawing in new people of just the same crowd of hardcores?

  4. QCE…I’ve told you…I don’t work for Schilling or have anything to do with them, so I cannot fill you in on these events unfortunately.

My realm is mainly the Thursday monthly RICO GOP meetings. After reading your post, maybe I should switch it up and start at least eating good food instead of listening to LONG windbags like the RRBC.

  5. We have some really fantastic people in the party who are spearheading some of these events… Mary Albracht has been a blessing, she put together Trivia Night, and she’s helping the Woz, too, so that should be great for his campaign. There’s also an Augie grad, Megan Kirik, who’s been huge with some of these events for the Schilling campaign. Fresh blood is a good thing in the RICO GOP!

And yes, all of these events are picking up people from the outside. I was at the trivia event and I didn’t recognize most of the people in attendance.
