An Interesting Way To Frame The Amnesty Debate

Jeb Bush on immigration in an interview at the George Bush Presidential Library Center in College Station, Texas:

“Yes, [illegals] broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love, it’s an act of commitment to your family.”

Fascinating!

But I do agree with his statement about public schools and education:

“The system we have today with over 13,000 government-run, politicized, unionized monopolies probably is not the best governance model for 2014 and going forward.”

Understated, but true. Unfortunately he is a major mover and champion of Common Core, which basically wipes out and negates the above statement.

Naturally he was asked about running for POTUS in ’16 and he said he would decide by the end of the year, but if he did run, it would be on The Vision Thing ™ not nasty, mud-slinging politics of today.

It could be refreshing to have a candidate who doesn’t play down and dirty smash-mouth politics, but unfortunately the Democrats will continue to play smash-mouth because it works for them. It especially works for them when their GOP opponent is a “moderate” like McCain, Romney—or Jeb Bush.

  1. I suppose Genghis Khan also committed an act of love for his family, as he rampaged. But at least those he invaded knew to fight back.

If invading is an act of love, not defending our borders is an act of hate against traditional America, which is still 70% of US. (Though many of that 70% don’t realize what is at stake)

More legal hard working immigrants that go through the Ellis Island routine would indeed help America, but they can’t all come from one country … nor most from third world countries. We have enough central LA gangster types, that want to conquer US. Jeb’s son thinks like his Mom … you at times have to fight for your race … and he doesn’t mean Jeb’s side of the family.

  2. I can’t imagine this would help Jeb if he decided to run for POTUS. He already has enough problems with his last name—the unhinged BDS wackos would be out in full force.

Also, as I mentioned he’s a “moderate” in the Loser’s Club with McCain and Romney.

I’m sure some illegally immigrate here to help their families, but why should they be exempt from the law of the land? I suspect many more come here to partake of the freebies afforded them and have their children born in The Land Of The Free.

Immigration is certainly a problem in this country—don’t want to think about the Jihadists who stream in over our porous borders—but trying to frame it as something that should be on a Hallmark card isn’t particularly helpful.

  3. Hallmark card … ha .. yeah, but maybe it is just about appeasing the right billionaires that want cheap labor, and playing to the Latino crowd and left, while somehow still claiming stake on the “Republican” title thanks to the Bush name … as if they were ever conservative.

I hear many come from Mexico middle class, and just want the “anchor baby” for future benefits, even if they go back to live in Mexico. The whole idea of awarding citizenship just because illegals pop out a kid while here illegally is more insanity. So the middle class come for vacation, have the kid, go home … voila … a trump card for the future.

It all seems part of the 60 plus year old plan to bring down the most powerful most free country, led mostly by communist Russia maybe, but certainly they’re allied with many other countries or US groups. All of it strikes me more as coordinated enemy action … not “gosh, how could we be so gullible/stupid?” The PC religion has its popes and bishops, and an ulterior motive they ultimately serve.

We somehow are able (as a “collective”) to deny that Obama was raised socialist/communist. (and he ate dog, while raised out of this country). His first mentor (Marshal Davis) was on the FBI watch list (for being hard core communist) … his second .. (Rev. God damn America Wright) is a black power disciple of Farrakhan, despite claiming to be “Christian”.

We have to fear that our media is so powerful, they can cover all that up and get the lying commie elected twice, while Republicans cower in fear of being called racist or homophobic. The Obamacare disaster might just lead us to another one of the “cabal”, like Jeb, posing as “the Republican’s turn.

I like a guy like Cruz, but not sure that is viable. Romney would be ten times better than Jeb … he is a little too “moderate”, but seems to be real business and maybe even real honest. Our problem is corruption. Romney and a woman VP? Versus Hilldabeast?

Rand maybe .. but he has issues for me. Walker in Wisconsin would work maybe. Lots of time to consider it all I guess. 🙂

  4. Agree 100% with your first paragraph, and as for your last—I was thinking Rand too, but saw a headline touting video of Rand saying invading Iraq was all about Halliburton. The link was to Mother Jones and I didn’t have the fortitude at the time to click it, but if true—Ay!Yi!Yi!

Also agree 100% with “Lots of time to consider it all”—especially since neither one of us are big $$$$ donors or GOP Poobahs!
