An Illinois Voter Lashes Out—At The Wrong Person

Yesterday Bruce Rauner suddenly appeared at a restaurant in Colona to speak to the locals. According to the account in QCTimes some geezer arrived, who (allegedly) didn’t know Rauner was there, and hilarity ensued:

“Pobanz stood up from his table in the back of the restaurant and asked Rauner if he would increase Social Security funding for seniors: ‘Could you live on $1,300 each month?'”

Without stating Rauner’s reply, the Democrat Newsletter a/k/a QCTimes, went on to give Pobanz the last—and only word:

“He’s just like any other politician…They promise you something, and you get what you get anyway.”

It’s hard to argue with that, but QCTimes doesn’t bother giving a fair and full report of the event.

Obviously the Illinois governor has no control over Social Security payments, so why didn’t QCTimes mention that inconvenient fact and include Rauner’s reply? The reporting on this was so sloppy it looked like a hit piece.

But I’m pretty sure Rauner knows the press isn’t his friend.
