The Era Of Lane Evans/Phil Hare Liberalism Is Over In The 17th CD

After his stinging defeat in ’10 to Bobby Schilling, Phil Hare said “I know the Republicans are looking at a repeal [of Obamacare]. I think it’s shameful if they ever talk about it.”

Unfortunately for the Philster, Democrats are now dismantling Obamacare right along with Republicans.

The Weekly Standard:

“The House of Representatives passed legislation Wednesday afternoon [March 5] to make the fine/”tax” for violating Obamacare’s individual mandate $0 for this year, and it did so by a wide margin of 90 votes (250 to 160)…Moreover 27 Democrats voted for today’s legislation…”

Among those 27 was Cheri Bustos (D-NARAL). The individual mandate was at the heart of Obamacare but now even Democrats are running scared and away from the central tenet of the law.

How will Schilling counter this? Bustos is out GOPing the GOP when it comes to Obamacare.

  1. Bustos is running over Bob for jobs! If Schilling thinks he’s going to run a sneak attack against Bustos and win — he’s delusional. Trust me, Bustos is waiting for former Congressman and semi-career politician Bobby Schilling with a ball bat!

  2. You are correct—Bustos has put Schilling in a box. He can’t very well denounce her for voting for $0 tax for the individual mandate, can he?

Bustos is running the tables while Schilling wants you to know how many times he has reproduced himself and that he is waiting for The Flawless ™.

Sad and pathetic, especially considering this is his third rodeo.

  3. While this doesn’t completely eliminate the possibility of Schilling being elected it certainly makes his entire campaign thus far meaningless.

Bustos effectively just took Obamacare off the table.

What does Schilling have left? They agree on pretty much everything else other than abortion, right?

He doesn’t think he can win on just that issue, does he?

  4. Who knows? Schilling has said he will unleash The Flawless ™ after the primary, so we’ll see if he ever really had a plan beyond Obamacare! I’m not a Democrat!

  5. The question is, when is a family man private sector guy going to get tired of devoting his life chasing a government paycheck?

What is it 6 years now? Does that officially make you a career politician?
