“A ‘success factor’ was added to the enrollment multiplier waiver process for non-boundary schools, the IHSA announced…the new policy, which starts for the 2014-2015 year, means a school that meets the success criteria would be forced to move up in classification…if they have advanced to the state finals twice in a four year period.”
Alleman athletic director Steve Smithers:
“We can’t help but feel that there is an unfortunate view of success…Why is there a level of punishment for doing something well? I don’t want to make comparisons, but if a public school wins multiple titles in a row, it’s celebrated. If a private school does it, they’re doing something wrong.”
Welcome to Illinois gulag, comrade! Or at least to “progressive” politics where the playing field is leveled so that everyone can be average—whether they are or not.
The message here is clear—liquidate the kulaks! Nobody must be allowed to have more than the downtrodden.
