Quote Of The Day

From MSNBC senior political analyst Mark Halperin on Barack Obama’s conduct during his press conference:

“I think he was kind of a dick yesterday.”

  1. I feel like the best thing to do is just embrace your mistake more than be super apologetic about it. Half the country would’ve loved this guy if he held to his guns and said, ‘well it’s true’… now everyone thinks he’s kind of an idiot.

Maybe this is me being immature, but it seems to me people who go overboard to apologize just end up looking like… well, dicks.

I also love how MSNBC behaved during this. Keith Olbermann called President Bush all sorts of horrible things… but yeah, calling Obama a dick? Homey don’t play that.

Also, I miss the old theme.

  2. Well yes—this was no spontaneous blurted out comment by Halperin—he knew what he was going to say—he then claimed he had no idea why he said it.

I also agree that when someone makes a mistake the right thing to do is admit it and move on. We can’t do anything about the leftwing press that pounces on every gaffe and misstatement by GOPers—especially women, while giving Obama and Democrats a pass, because that’s just a fact of life.

I remember when Bob Dole was running against Bill Clinton in the ’90s, Dole made the outrageous claim that there was no proof that smoking caused cancer. Holy cats! Rather than admit error, he doubled down and looked like a complete dishonest idiot. I was sorta backing him at the time, but after that—no way! I didn’t vote for Clinton either, but Dole lost my support by acting like a total dick. 🙂
