An otherwise mundane press release from our specially bred Senator Mike Jacobs contained this howler:
“Bridges throughout our state have been neglected for far too long. I am proud to announce that the Illinois Department of Transportation has released the funding and bid out projects that will provide much needed bridge and road repairs throughout the district.”
For “far too long”?
Gee, HOW long, Mike?
You and your daddy have had a seat in the senate for over a quarter of a century, you like to boast you are the fourth generation of your family to be in the Illinois legislature and your political party has had absolute control of state government for nearly a decade—so what took you so long? Don’t you and your family owe the people of your district an apology for your long “neglect”?
What a hoot! Mike tries to pretend he was just sworn in this year—you can’t make this stuff up!
Interestingly, this Jacobs press release was recycled as a “news” article with Brandy Donaldson’s byline—and the “neglected for far too long” idiocy was scrubbed.
