Lies, Damned Lies And Demagoguery

A question by Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace and the answer from Rep. Paul Ryan about his proposed budget for 2012:

Q: As you look ahead to the next election, aren’t Democrats going to be able to say . . . look at the House Republicans, they want to kill Medicare, they want to kill Medicaid, they want to gut the programs that you depend on. Aren’t you playing into Democrats’ hands?

A. We are. We are giving them a political weapon to go against us, but they will have to lie and demagogue to make that a political weapon.

  1. Obama comes out and says 70,000 children will starve and be tortured if Republicans cut a dime (or some such shit). I guess Republicans should show pictures of a third world poverty stricken country, and proclaim that is the future Obama is leaving for your children, since he is spending a trillion a year beyond what we have.

This video explains that even if we took all the money from the rich and not so rich, it would pay for one year of government, but would destroy business from there on. Of course Obama thinks government should run everything … so that communist world is his nirvana, he just won’t say so.

  2. I saw that story about Obama’s USAID guy claiming the chiilllldren would die if we don’t give them money, but why the hell should we pay for foreign chilllldren when our own are in dire straits and we are flat broke?

I was going to blog about it, but then I decided I couldn’t do another post about the GOP wants your granny to eat dog food, wants to kill the chillldren, wants to bring back coathanger abortions, lynch mobs, etc, etc. etc.

It’s hard to believe people actually believe this twaddle—the Dems have been going to the same fearmongering well for decades—but as Paul Ryan says, Dem fearmongering has worked in the past.

This just reinforces my theory that if there were no stupid people in the USA, Democrats could not get elected. 🙂

Paul Krugman isn’t stupid, but already he’s lying that Ryan wants to privatize Medicare—which is false. I’ve also seen some leftwingers insist the GOP raise taxes on the rich, even though their sainted Obama vetoed that last year.

This is only the beginning. I hope the GOP has a rapid response team to call out all the liars and demagogues on the left—they’re gonna need it.

Of course the Democrat allies in the press will always take what a Democrat SAYS over what the facts are, but this calls for some serious GOP pushback.

The wild card is Obama—will he continue to play hide and seek and avoid making the tough choices or will he decide he has a chance to actually BE a reformer, not just a talker.

    I’m not optimistic.
