Too Many Indians, Not Enough Chiefs

Since 2003 more than 10,000 Illinois state employees have joined unions.

If this rush to unionize isn’t corrected by negotiations, legislation will have to be introduced to limit union-eligible jobs and rescind union coverage for thousands of people.

Three County Quinn spokesman says that without legislation:

“. . .we are looking at a situation where there is virtually no management at a variety of agencies and facilities.”

Finally! What every liberal dreams of—The Worker’s Paradise in Illinois!

Legislation to curb unionization was presented—and defeated during the last lame duck session that brought us such hot button issues as the 67% tax increase, civil unions and abolition of the death penalty.

So it seems unlikely the Democrat controlled Illinois government will now be able to advance legislation their union paymasters despise. But if it does move forward, let’s make sure there is a provision that forces the unions and their politician-slaves to include a negotiator for the taxpayer’s interest. As it stands now, we don’t have a seat at the table when these generous union contracts are “negotiated”.

Since we’re footing the bill, that needs to change.
