At some point Major Hasan, who refused to have his picture taken with women, will learn that he was brought down and shot by a mere girl.

Representative Phil Hare called for ‘a veteran’s veteran who will put the needs of our fighting men and women above any political ideology.’

“Sir – where are you now? This VA allowed Maj. Hassan (sic) to treat our vets. After being questioned. After complaints. After concerns were expressed.”

Hey, I know the answer to this question—Nicholson was part of a Republican Administration, but the current Secretary is a Obama appointee.

Which is why it is left to people like Joe Lieberman to call for congressional investigations and hearings to “put the needs of our fighting men and women above any political ideology.”

Exposing Hare’s hypocrisy is almost as much fun as exposing his lies—unfortunately, both are too damned easy to do.

Let’s hope we get an honorable congressman next year to replace the despicable hack we have now.

“Here’s a simple test: If Nadal Malik Hasan had been a devout Christian with pronounced anti-abortion views, and had he attacked, say, a Planned Parenthood office, would his religion have been considered relevant as we tried to understand the motivation and meaning of the attack? Of course. Elite opinion makers do not, as a rule, try to protect Christians and Christian belief from investigation and criticism. Quite the opposite. It would be useful to apply the same standard of inquiry and criticism to all religions.”

Well yeah, except for the fact that Muslims are part of the PC protected class—criticize a Muslim and you’re a bigot.

It’s almost comical the way the military, politicians and the press ignore the elephant jihad in the room.

The Army has ordered all soldiers to NOT discuss Hasan’s religion; the liberal commetariat is clutching their collective pearls about “backlash”, and Obama has delivered his usual leftwing drivel about “diversity”.

The only people thinking about “backlash” are the people listed above—which says more about them than the people they fear will do the backlashing.

Rick Moran on the passage of the Pelosicare bill which “nobody has read, that contains nobody knows what, that no one has a clue of what kind of impact it will have on the current health care system, with a cost known only to God”:

Yesterday our wonderful congressman Phil Hare voted to extend unemployment benefits and the first time homebuyer’s tax credit of $8000 to April 30, 2010. The income caps for the homebuyer exemption was raised to $125K for individuals and $225K for married couples—the real downtrodden, no?

Hare still wasn’t satisfied with this and was quoted as saying the “extension is not as long as I preferred”.

What a surprise.

It’s not just me, but those I know engaged in the real estate biz believe that this $8000 first time homebuyer’s tax credit will live in perpetuity like the farm subsidies—the real estate lobby is too powerful for politicians like Hare to ignore.

At least this isn’t costing us money like the Cash for Clunkers deal—this time it will cut federal revenues which will be made up by—-gee, I dunno, ask Phil.

Unemployment in February, when the $787B “stimulus” bill became law was 7.6%. Last month unemployment was 10.2%

So what happened with Obama who is purported to be the most brilliant man on the planet?

I believe the temptation to turn every progressive’s wet dream into reality caused him to take his eye off the ball of what concerns most Americans—the economy and jobs.

He thought he could run up the deficit, enact sweeping changes in health care and climate change without any notice. So how smart was that?

I didn’t vote for Obama, but I thought he was at least smart enough to understand his own country and to behave in a way that would protect his own legacy. At what point will he come to realize that just being President Of The Leftwingers isn’t a plan for a successful presidency?

The Nancy Pelosi “Affordable Health Care for America Act” is about much more than affordable health care—it creates 111 new federal bureaucracies.

Go to the link for the list of the entire 111, but some of my favorites are the “Health Choices Administration”, the “Telehealth Advisory Committee” and “No Child Left Unimmunized Against Influenza”.

There are at least nine bureaucracies devoted to Indian concerns—I’m not sure if that means Native Americans or people from India, but whichever it is certainly has a powerful lobby in the House.

The long term cost to sustain all this new bureaucracy is unknown, but it is estimated to cost around $16.65 million per annum for salaries alone, and I think it’s safe to say these jobs will be filled by family, friends, cronies and donors of Democrats.

It’s time to give up the charade that this this bill has anything to do with affordable health care; instead of the Affordable Health Care For America Act, it should be named The Federal Government Full Employment Act.

“According to Rep. Hare, [Pelosi's Affordable Health Care For America Act] would not pay for abortions . . .”

Which is odd because Michigan Democrat Rep. Bart Stupak says he and 40 other House Democrats will vote against the Pelosi bill if she doesn’t include language that will absolutely forbid tax money being used for abortions.

So which is it? If Hare is telling the truth, then Stupak and like-minded Democrats are just making stuff up in order to cause trouble for their party—or they’re just insane.

If Stupak is telling the truth about Pelosi’s bill funding abortions, then Hare is lying, and let’s get real here—he doesn’t have a good track record when i comes to telling the truth.

I have done many posts about Hare’s lies about all things, large and small, and at first I thought he was just an amiable doofus who didn’t know what the hell he was talking about.

I don’t believe that now.

Like Obama, Hare depends on his allies in the press to carry his water and cover for him, and that worked well for Hare in the past because he had no competition last year. This year is different because Hare now has two challengers who will be more than happy to point out and hammer Hare’s prevarications. The pro-Hare press will not be able to ignore this.

Hare’s serial attempts to fool the rubes by lying about what he supports and how he votes, is reason enough to reject Hare’s bid for another term—his contempt for the people of the 17th will not go unnoticed and will not be rewarded.

In The Dispatch account of Phil Hare’s press conference about how he was “doing his best” to get more H1N1 vaccine to the area, there was this odd bit at the end:

“Rep. Hare urged employers to be more flexible in granting sick leave to people with flu symptoms. He said his office is receiving phone calls from sick people—some of whom are food service workers—who are hesitant or unable to take the needed time off work.”

This flies in the face of all logic—and reality.

I’d like to know which businesses don’t allow sick people to take off work—I want some names. It seems especially unlikely that food service businesses would discourage their workers from taking sick leave—I suspect the opposite is the case.

In my entire working career, it never once occurred to me to call my congressman when I was ill. So what did these people expect Hare to do for them?

Force taxpayers to make up their lost pay?

Become their employer’s “worst nightmare”, which worked out so well for the Seaford workers?

Are local Democrats just more dimwitted than most workers?

Is Hare just making stuff up again in order to please his Big Labor paymasters by bashing business—again?

I’m sorry Philster, but your statement strains credulity; no business would force sick workers to stay on the job and infect others.

I want the names of these businesses and I want the names of people who called Hare expecting him to intervene with their employer—otherwise I’ll assume this is more palter.
