Phil Hare Was Nancy Pelosi’s Cabana Boy. . .

. . . but Bobby Schilling is his own man.

“Bobby Schilling, an incoming Tea Party-backed member of Congress from Illinois, is backing opposition to a just-passed defense authorization bill . . . Schilling is siding with Mark Kirk but breaking with Republican leadership in the House . . . Schilling’s voice on the issue is important because he is the only newly-elected Republican who will be serving on the Armed Services committee.”

Ultimately, changes in the bill were made before passing that mitigated Schilling’s concerns.

So Schilling, the rightwing extremist is siding with RINO Mark Kirk?

And say what—Schilling is bucking GOP leadership? Did Hare ever go to the bathroom without Nancy Pelosi’s approval?

I can’t wait for Bobby to be sworn in—he’ll be magnificent!

It will be tough to be “his own man” in the slime that has become DC politics. I hope Schilling hangs tough but the reality is he will probably have to be willing to sway in the wind if he has any success. Quid Pro Quo has become the norm of US politics.

It will be interesting to see how Schilling shakes out as congressman, but at least he is making a strong showing right out of the chute.

He knows everyone—friend and foe alike—is watching him closely so I doubt he’ll wander far from his stated goals and governing philosophy.

But you are right; some “swaying in the wind” will be necessary to get things done.

Does Schilling even have an office yet? I haven’t heard anything about a staff-office-plan yet. Maybe the papers aren’t covering it, but you would think with 2 weeks to go, something would have been mentioned?

Bobby has the situtation under control. I spoke with him and some of his new staff the other day. I also know for a fact that his office rent will far less than Hare’s rent was, and Bobby’s office will have more space.

Hare didn’t care what the tax payer paid, it’s wasn’t his money he was spending.

Congressman elect Schilling hired his own son to to run his show. Jr got his job the old fashioned way, through Nepotism. Jr passed over More qualified candidates that had been waiting in line and were told to get to the end of the line.
    Congressman Schilling is a hypocryt.

You unhinged wacko Politburo Dimocrats are such a hoot!

Was Hare’s campaign manager elected? Was Marvelous Mike’s campaign manager elected?

Um, no they weren’t, which is why your hysterics about “hypocryt” is hilarious!

When Bobby Schilling selects his son for US Congress as Lane Evans did for Phil Hare or selects him for IL Senate which Denny Jacobs did for his son Marvelous Mike, you might have a case.

But as it stands now—you just make us laugh!

FEAR & SMEAR—it’s all the Dimocrats have to convince people to vote for them.

    Well that and:

VOTE FOR DENNY’S BOY; VOTE FOR LANE’S CHOSEN ONE

The Politburo dogs bark but the electorate moves on.

But please Third, name all those “more qualified candidates that had been waiting in line” to be Schilling’s campaign manager.

    Put up or shut up.

As the Vice Chairman of the Illinois Young Republicans, I know any of the aforementioned candidates would have been better campaign manager’s than was or is Terrific Terry. No offense Examiner, but any hack could have ridden that wave!

Sour grapes folks, coming from both sides of the aisle directed at the Schilling’s. Hey, they won. Yes the wave helped them, but did anyone pay attention to Bobby on Memorial Day 09 when he announced? Nope, not many. I did. Terry did a darn good job. Sour grapes. It’s over. Move on. Move forward.

    Scott Gryder,

Maybe those people were more qualified…but would they have worked for $1,239.90 a month? (I saw this on the FEC report).

The Schilling campaign couldn’t afford the “best” at the time. They did with they could afford. (I know the Democrats don’t run out country that way these days)

Don’t be upset that somebody actually did something successful the right way.

Well yeah fmn, I don’t get this at all.

I did my first post on Schilling on March 29, 2009 based on a link someone sent me to his campaign website.

I was pretty darned excited about it, but although I’m not a GOPer and have no idea about the inner workings of the organization, I can’t imagine the people named in #9 were beating Bobby’s door down to manage his campaign on March 29.

Not being an insider, I could be wrong, but what I DO know is that “Third” is yet another reincarnation of Good gal, so I published her comment just for fun and because it’s always interesting to see how the mind of the Politburo works.

I have no idea if “Scott Gryder” even exists, or if he does if he’s legit—I noticed his IP is in the same cluster as the Politburo/Phreak/Dimocrat agitators.

So it sounds like sour grapes to me too. I don’t recall much talk about how Schilling’s election would be a slam-dunk sure thing—I certainly never heard anything like “any hack could have ridden that wave”, which makes me think Gryder is yet another Politburo operative, doing what the Politburo knows best—FEAR & SMEAR.

PS: Gryder, I’ll “shut up” when they pry the keyboard from my cold, dead fingers. :-)

11 points, 20,000 votes and winning Rock Island county is a pretty big wave…

Btw, there is no way that the Vice Chairman of the YRs would publicly pick a fight with the Schilling camp. It’s Mike Jacobs. He’s a pot stirrer.

Can’t wait till Albracht rids the QCs of the Jacob’s “Legacy”

Albright is Jacobs Cousin and Jacobs cousin Carpentier has got this worked out for Jacobs Jacobs will run against Schock in a very Democratic district after Schock beats Schilling in the Primary. Jacobs will gerrymander this district just the way he wants it. This is a done deal. Jacobs and Carpentier are ruling the district.

Jacobs goose is cooked. We’re coming for him.

What are you going to give your video to Schock? Are you people ignorant? Mike draws the district. This was Jacobs plan from the beginning. With Hare out of the way Jacobs is free to gerrymander this district to make Schilling and Schock have to face off making this a home run for Democrats. Jacobs will fix the 36th so that Albright will be the candidate to win as a Republican.
Jacobs and Carpentier have been running things since John G left.

    Third/Good Gal/Michael P Jacobs—

Carpentier isn’t running shit. Not even her own party. Yeah she’s pulling the strings with less than 25% of her precincts filled.

    Mike you are completely delusional.

And for the record…Carpentier needs to go. Hearts in the right place, but she’s got a full time job and not enough time to commit to the party.

Be careful what you say about Albracht. The last guy that went against him didn’t turn out so well.

If it’s a primary between Schilling and Schock, Schilling will do the right thing and let the only guy that can take out Durbin run and destroy Jacobs and then run against Durbin in 2 years. Schilling will just have to sit out 2 years and run again when Schock goes for Senate or Governor.

Thanks for the link NaF and here’s the permalink.

Just like when Hare was running against Schilling, there is a lot of magical thinking on the part of the local Dimocrats—let’s hope it continues!

Schilling was never in this for power, glory or $$$$, he was in this to defeat our specially selected, recently rejected congressman and all his statist policies.

    Mission accomplished.

Bobby has a life outside politics, which Hare never had, and Schock is a genuine political superstar, which Hare never was—or Marvelous Mike.

We will still have to wait and see how the district shakes out, but I can’t really see a day when Denny’s Boy will defeat Superstar Schock.

That’s just a fact, no matter how detached from reality Dimocrats/Politburo/Phreaks are.

Hare is finished—he couldn’t even carry his home county—it’s a whole new ballgame for the RICO Politburo, and as you say, the GOP ain’t as dumb as Dimocrats wish/hope/think they are.

This is the legacy of the RICO GOP laying down and dying: RICO Dims think all they have to do is have a “D” after their names to win.

Ask Phil Hare, who was a Democrat in a massively gerrymandered Democrat district if that is true.

A new day is dawning and the electorate has moved on, but I do love the sound of Politburo dinosaurs shrieking in the tar pits waiting for Gianulis to tell them it is their turn.

Couldn’t have said it better myself QCE.

The reason that RICODEMS can’t foresee a situation where SCHILLING doesn’t run against Schock is because all that they know is power and politics.

The fact that Mike Jacobs is on here writing about this suggests that he doesn’t give a shit about what’s going on in our state or about doing the right thing. He only cares about the Jacob’s legacy and having the thrown of power.

Jacobs is the exact opposite type of representative that Schilling is. Career Politicians v. Family/Business/States—man

How many times have people accused me of being Bobby Schilling? Terry Schilling? Rich Morthland?

Jeez. I’ve never refuted any of them because I don’t care if people think i’m someone else.

    Merry Christmas Mike.

I’m sure that whatever you decide, Bobby and Bill look forward to defeating you.
