The Most Accurate Description I’ve Ever Seen Of The Illinois 17th CD

From Jim Bennett a/k/a The Bloviating Hammerhead:

“. . . a district so gerrymandered that its tentacles encompass parts of Uzbekistan as well as the lost city of Atlantis.”

But the primary topic of The Hammerhead’s post is how those intertubes thingees, specifically YouTube, have not been kind to The Philster.

He recaps the Kerfuffle in Kwincy (including an amusing photoshop) and moves on to the kerfuffle in Springfield last week where, when asked at an event about the constitutionality of Obamacare, Hare told an aide who tried to intervene, who I assume is Pat O’Brien from his Moline office:

“Pat, don’t worry about it. Don’t worry about it, Pat. It’s just silly stuff.”

As The Hammerhead says, the blogosphere “lit up like Aunt Gladys with a hot flash”.

He also wonders why Hare hasn’t developed some pat soundbite when asked about this.

Clueless, arrogant, incompetent or all of the above?

Tough call.

No less than Rich Miller has said Hare is a terrible campaigner, and this is more proof he is correct. Hare campaigns like the entire district is comprised of his elite Democrat pals and his homies at the union halls.

Go to the link and read Hammerhead’s hilarious post—he’s a Monmouth native—so he knows the 17th, and he’s a certified hoot!

The live action camera is not kind to bloviating buffoons/puppets that only understand how to preen and prance to their pre-programed dance set.

So after Hare had a month to think about whether “I don’t really care about the constitution on this” was a proper response, he refined his response to “this is silly stuff”.

Nothing like national attention to focus the man’s mind … it’s not that he doesn’t care about the constitution, it’s that it is “silly stuff”. That seems worse … he still doesn’t care, but he also thinks the constitution is “silly” and he is not bound by it.

Even if the founders were silly, didn’t Hare take an oath to uphold the silly stuff? We need to send Schilling to DC so Hare can go back and finish 8th grade civics. :)

bill, even back in April at the Kwincy Kerfuffle, I was astounded that Hare didn’t have some stock talking point in regard to the constitutionality of Obamacare, since everyone was talking about all the lawsuits that were going to challenge the mandate on constitutional grounds.

That five months later, he STILL doesn’t have anything to say about it except a snarky putdown indicates, at least to me, that he and his campaign staff are SERIOUSLY out of touch with the 17th CD.

That cutesy-poo snarky dismissive stuff goes over well at the union halls and with the Democrats elites, but with the electorate in general—not so much.

It’s like General Custer at Little Big Horn: “Come on boys, we can take out these red savages and be home for lunch!” :-)
