The Truth According To Phil
From The Dispatch:
So which is it? If Hare is telling the truth, then Stupak and like-minded Democrats are just making stuff up in order to cause trouble for their party—or they’re just insane.
If Stupak is telling the truth about Pelosi’s bill funding abortions, then Hare is lying, and let’s get real here—he doesn’t have a good track record when i comes to telling the truth.
I have done many posts about Hare’s lies about all things, large and small, and at first I thought he was just an amiable doofus who didn’t know what the hell he was talking about.
I don’t believe that now.
Like Obama, Hare depends on his allies in the press to carry his water and cover for him, and that worked well for Hare in the past because he had no competition last year. This year is different because Hare now has two challengers who will be more than happy to point out and hammer Hare’s prevarications. The pro-Hare press will not be able to ignore this.
Hare’s serial attempts to fool the rubes by lying about what he supports and how he votes, is reason enough to reject Hare’s bid for another term—his contempt for the people of the 17th will not go unnoticed and will not be rewarded.
Gee, what a shock; just as Hare became congressman as the result of a dirty backroom deal, it looks like the Dems are doing a dirty backroom deal to get taxpayer funded abortions sneaked into the Pelosi bill.

The Democrats can’t be open about what they want and what they believe because they know their ideology will be rejected by the public—this is just more proof of how unpopular their policies are.
This is why Hare has to lie about what he does in DC—he knows the good people of the 17th would kick his ample keester to the curb.

I am not sure that most of the people that have/will vote for Hare will care how much he lies. I got in to a discussion with a local pastor a while back that votes Democrat. He was against abortion but he was more concerned about the Union talking points that Hare spouts – than he was about unborn children being sacrificed. And that is the way I find most Hare supporting Democrats – more worried about the Hare Union talking points than they are about what Hare actually says or does. They are like those Seaford union workers – Hare sputs rhetoric they believe he is a saint.

You are correct that the Hare zombies will vote for him no matter how much he lies, but there are a bunch of independents in the 17th, some GOPers and some blue collar Dems who can be persuaded to vote against him—or at least not vote FOR him.
Schilling has his work cut out for him, but with some help from the Green guy, I believe it can be done since Hare is so far out of the 17th’s mainstream as to be right at home in San Francisco.
PS: This is not an official prediction, since I am almost always WRONG!

“… at first I thought he was just an amiable doofus who didn’t know what the hell he was talking about.
I don’t believe that now.”
It does seem certain that talking points and strategies are passed down from high command, and Hare brain marches in lock step with Pelosi. Some blue dogs pretend to put up a fight, at least when it is getting close to election time, but Hare hops to the far left party line.
Hare will try to get the new locks on the dams … that would get him some brownie points. I wonder if that would all be union work.
But if unemployment is still over 10%, with real unemployment closer to 20%, and many working reduced hours and/or wages … Bobby should have an open door. Too bad the Repub committee spent almost a million on that ‘faza lefty gal, instead of helping Schilling a little.

Phil is going to run over Schilling and the Tea Party people! Cong. hare has all the campaign cash he will ever need to hold onto his power. You people are the dying breath of an extinct political movement (Republicans).

LOL … I thought you were going to say … part of an extinct democracy …
Hardcore Democrat New Jersey just elected a Republican governor … Virginia elected a Republican by almost 20% …
Obama Pelosi Reid are close to breaking the Democrats … they keep pushing crap 70% of the population doesn’t want … and Hare just hops along to their orders.
Time for real change.

Don’t hold your (dying) breath Half.
The recent election for governor in NJ was won by a GOPer who was outspent 5 to 1 by the rich fat-cat Democrat incumbent Corzine, so money ain’t the whole show.
Besides, Hare has two strikes against him that he didn’t have last election; an opponent (or 2) and a voting record.
So dream on Half if you think Hare won’t pay for his radical votes and associations—yesterday he voted AGAINST the amendment that would ban tax dollars being used for abortions in Obama/Pelosi care. Who the hell wants their taxes to pay for abortions except extremists like Hare?
He still might win next year, but he will heavily damaged and in a weakened condition if he runs in the 2012 redistricted 17th.
