He’s Just Not That Into You
Chad Pergram explains Phil Hare’s vote for the cap-and-trade Waxman-Markey bill:
Rep. Phil Hare (D-Hack) was concerned about the impact on farmers. He even got a call from White House Chief of Staff and former fellow Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel to plead for his vote . . . But Hare said he already made up his mind to support the bill by the time Emanuel phoned. . . . “I told him, ‘I hate to be the bearer of bad news. You don’t have to scream at me.’ Hare said.
Screw the farmers and the rest of the 17th CD—Hare answers to a higher power.
Our good little lockstepper don’t need no stinkin’ constituents—he takes his marching orders from San Fran Nan and ShyTown Rahm.
Our district is in the very best of hands.
Is this really a surprise? I don’t Rahm actually called him.
Phil isn’t THAT important.
Too bad this seaford clothing story came out and squashed this Waxman-Markley bill POS.
i feel like there is nothing we can do.
I talked to my Schilling camp contact and they told me they are getting radio silence on this news story about “crap and trade”
WTF?

IFG, I think the “radio silence” reaction might be about right. There is little indication, at least for now, that the House version of crap-n-trade will survive the Senate. The only plus is that Hare is on record voting for this economy-killing bill.

Since Hare doesn’t take constituent phone calls and only has an hear to Rob Emmanuel, then I’ll assume that Phil is looking out for the Democrat’s best interests, not our farmers let alone the workers of this area.
I just talked to one of my friends down in Quincy who works in manufacturing, and while the cap and trade has good intentions, he’s very concerned about the fact is how he will get paid.

And most of his supporters would not know what “cap and trade” means if you asked them. You would get a blank stare in most cases. Try it, go out and ask several people at random if they know who their Congressman is or if they know what cap and trade is. You might get a better percentage there with first question but few here know the fat F.. Phil.

I agree with Phil Hare not talking to constituents like yourself. There is a level of intelligence that has to be there to get to have a conversation with Phil. Phil can not just talk to any Joe on the street. Everyone that knows anything knows that.

What level is that, kindergarten?
Comment by Tspud1 | July 2, 2009
Yeah I agree that Greg R. appears to have a kindergartners education.
