You Might Be A Rightwing Extremist And Enemy Of The State If You . . .

1. reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority

2. oppose restrictions on firearms ownership

3. oppose abortion

4. oppose illegal immigration

5. are a returning veteran

6. “chatter” on the internet about the economy, job losses and home foreclosures.

Except for #5, I plead guilty on all the other counts—and all these years I thought I was just a boring middle-class, middle-aged soccer mom.

But these guidelines to rightwing extremism didn’t come from some unhinged leftwing wacko blog or website, they came from the federal government’s Department of Homeland Security study called Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalism and Recruitment.

In the past there have been government studies on extremism, but they have had a narrow focus, like the KKK, skinheads, PETA, etc. This Obamite document defines rightwing extremism so broadly as to include not only “extremists” but also conservatives, the GOP and even moderate Dems—it is truly a sloppy piece of political propaganda and it ought to either be amended or rescinded.

It should also be mentioned that some of the “extremist” positions are part of the Constitution; the 1st, 2nd and 10th Amendments, for starters.

As William A. Jacobson says:

“Only in a highly politicized bureaucracy could the Constitution be viewed as a subversive manifesto.”

    Wow how can I make it on Obama’s McCarthyism list?

    Considering the timing of this report (April 7), I’m guessing you could get on the “list” by attending tomorrow’s TEA party where the FBI will probably be taking pictures of the crowd and writing down license plate numbers in the parking lot. :-D

    Well, during the Bush era and the warrantless wiretapping and violations of Constitutional protection against warrantless searches, the neo-coonservatives were fond of proclaiming “if you’ve done nothing wrong, then you’ve nothing to worry about”.
    -
    Shouldn’t that same mindset hold true today? Or has the morbidity of hypocrisy come home to the practitioners of that black craft?
    -
    So, what’s the problem? Take it like real men and quit whining.

    I’m not whining, I’m laughing at the rank hypocrisy of leftwingers who for the last 8 years insisted that “dissent is the highest form of patriotism”, but now that they have full control of the government, suddenly “dissent” isn’t patriotic, it’s criminal.

    I don’t have anything against wiretaps if they’re looking for terrorists, but when domestic dissent is being criminalized, well even the “neo-coonservatives” didn’t go that far.

    PS: I’m sure you know that Obama is continuing the same wiretapping policy as Bush, giving us the Third Term Of The Bush Administration–Obama even voted for it when he was Senator.

    I can’t stop laughing!

    Nice point Joe Heathen.

    I may not agree with you but nice point.

    The hypocrisy really is hilarious. After eight years of the Bush Deranged criticizing every move Bush made in he war on terror it reached its peak with the wire tapping controversy. That carried over into the 2008 election process and was used against McCain as they tried to paint him as Bush-lite. Now that Obama is sitting in the oval office he is protecting and continuing the same basic wire tapping secrecy. Plus he is basically following the same Iraq exit strategy as Bush decided on. He has also decided to pursue the same strategy of holding Afghan POWS without habeas corpus. He has even started a McCarthyism like generic radical Americans list. Obama and his Socialist movement has become everything the Bush Deranged screamed about that they feared Bush would become. And he has done it all in his first year. Obama is definitely an overachiever when it comes to transforming in to George Bush Jr. :lol: @ the Bush Deranged!

    Johnson here’s the Glen Greenwald post in Salon that Joe seems to have based his comment on—his “if you’ve done nothing wrong” quote is a direct quote from Greenwald.

    Hey, if you haven’t done anything wrong, then you don’t have anything to worry about. Right?
    -
    That’s what all the neo-coonservatives said about the Patriot Act and invited anyone to monitor their telephone calls and Internet activity. Suddenly, their “rights” are being trampled upon?
    -
    Jesus, do those dolts know what hypocrisy is? Can’t they just eat the big serving of crow they cooked for themselves? Whatta bunch of whiners. They sure didn’t seem to care about anyone’s rights five and six years ago.

    Obama’s McCarthyism report continues to sting the False Prophets administration.

    Joe, you’re repeating yourself—press your reset button.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    S, Napolitano’s “apology” was lame and a liberal Democrat on the House committee for Homeland Security says she has some ‘splainin’ to do—like how this report came out in the first place and what activities she has planned with law enforcement officials to monitor legitimate public political activity.
    You know it’s bad when even liberal Democrats detect latent fascism from The Won and his administration.
