Pissed Off In Hopeyland
You know it’s bad when Democrats are dissing not only the US Senate leadership of Reid and Durbin but the sacred and holy PEBO as well about the bungling of the Burris appointment:
This was my primary complaint about Obama—that he had never demonstrated any leadership ability and instead always hung back to “wait and see” what happened before making a move. That might be hunky dory for a community organizer or Senator, but not so much for “The Decider” position of POTUS.
Same for the Congressional Democrat leadership—in the past they could sit on the sidelines and jeer and sneer about George Bush, but they no longer have that luxury—their future is tied to Obama’s. They will have to a) lead, b) follow or c) get out of the way.
So far, it looks like they are going with option C.
Pathetic.
This whole process has been a carnival. Obama played the part of the Ostrich with its head buried in the sand. That way he can pretend he was Sargent Shultz from Hogan’s Heroes. That way he can claim “he knows nuthing”. Of course now that he has exposed his vacuous head the situation is worse. And the Senate has been playing the monkeys beating on their chest and howling outrage. But then the 800 pound Gorilla showed up, aka the Illinois Supreme Court, and said the Burris nomination was legal.
Now they are all scrambling for an alternate position to howl from and what to howl about.

Two thoughts: First, I think he was too long in the Island Paradise with so many critical issues in play; Second, this is just going to get compounded because the Sunday shows were taped Friday and Durbin’s hard position is on tape for all the world to see Tomorrow a.m. Notice how Harry Reid has not ratify any of that stuff this time around.
Have a good weekend.
