A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words
In yet another liberal “World Ends, Women and Minorities Hurt Most” story, taxpayer funded NPR has a story about Ohio residents Gloria Nunez and her daughter Angelica Hernandez and how they are coping with the economy.
Neither are employed and depend on the government for assistance. The caring, compassionate NPR delivers the obligatory cliche that “low-income families in Ohio say they are particularly hard hit by the changes in the economy.”
But unfortunately for the NPR agenda, 19 year old Angelica has NEVER had a job.
As usual in these pieces, the kicker is at the end when NPR says that the rising cost of food means that Nunez’ money gets her about 1/3 fewer bags of groceries (since when, they don’t say) so she and her daughter are cutting back on meat and don’t buy ice cream anymore.
Now if this was just radio you might be inclined to feel some sympathy for Nunez/Hernandez. But thanks to the wonders of the internet, we get to see what Nunez and her daughter look like—and it looks like a vegetarian diet with less ice cream might be a good thing!

What a sad statement on the newsworthiness of the liberal press. NPR is a joke.
The other one that I love, which shows the amazing liberal bias of the press - Obama is going to Iraq. ALL THREE major anchors are accompanying him…
Couric, Gibson, Williams - all are going with Obama. This is a BIG story and needs to be covered by the anchors. What message does this provide the voters?
McCain has been three times recently - and not one anchor has been at his side.
What a joke!

This NPR story was just bizarre. Out of all the downtrodden they could have used to rehash the trite “World Ends, Women and Minorities Hurt Most” story, they chose two people who look like they could use a little less food! Maybe they thought since it was radio, no one would see them. Sheesh!
As for Obama’s Grand Tour—I’m gonna wait and see. There is no denying that most of the national press is in the tank for Obama, but this could backfire.
Everyone mentions the “gaffe” possibility, though I would think the press would attempt to cover up any inconvenient truths about Obama, but since this tour is ostensibly to burnish Obama’s (lack of) national policy credentials, the voters may look at this fawning coverage and instead of being impressed, think why is this guy getting the presidential treatment when he isn’t even nominated yet.
This trip may boost his ratings, which are even with McCains, but there is a strong possibility the public will notice that the press is trying too hard, and cause a backlash against Obama.
Can’t wait to see the next round of polls!
