How McCain Can Win And Republicans Can Retake Congress

All the GOP needs to do is run this video on a continual loop showing a Democrat loon advocating the NATIONALIZING of the oil industry. This is an ELECTED official—not just some fringey moonbat.

The Dems always whine about being “smeared” when some on the right cast them as socialists, but it’s obviously not a “smear”—it’s the truth.

The GOP needs to get on this—pronto! It will scare the bejeebus out of the entire country—-just like HillaryCare did in the 90s.

Hmmmm. I wonder if our specially selected congressman is advocating nationalization?

Simply amazing! If this does not show you the agenda of the left, then I do not know what will…

“Allow the Government to control, take care of, babysit every area of our lives”

I understand the looney-left – the ones that debate and get fanatical (until they are confronted about their foolishness as in the post below about Iraq, then they conveniently disappear), but the standard Dem on the street – I do not understand them. Are they just too dumb to filter through the crap that they are fed?

You wonder if Phil Hare (or any other Democratic Congressman) advocates nationalizing the oil industry? Don’t you know? Aren’t you up on what his positions are? What sort of informed voter are?

Hey Dave, nice to see you in play –

How about dropping down to the post – PLAY MISTY FOR ME – can you address this with a reasonable comment? So far, every liberal has been unable to muster an intelligent comment, how about you?

    qce,
I just did a little googling on this issue and found this poll result that showed that off the tops of their heads only 47% of American oppose nationalizing the oil industry.
    link
A lot of that 47% opposed might just be knee-jerk responses to the fear of socialism. I suspect that after the arguments on both sides were presented even fewer than 47% would be against it.

Sounds like a killer issue for the Republicans. I hope they run with it.

    tiger,
Huh? Just because no one desires to debate you conclude you’ve won? With your debating style, full of non-sequitors, ad-hominem attacks and insults I imagine you must “win” a lot of debates that way.

Come on Dave, I can’t believe that the “Bush Lied” crowd would fall aside so easily, just because of “my debating style!”

Come on, you, TID, Robbie, Mellon and many others have never been shy in the past – why now?

Maybe because the gig is up and you have no clever rebuttal?
Maybe because the FACTS make your ‘Bush-lied’ indefensible?
Or, maybe it is because I might call you a name?

Dave, let’s be honest, you have been called a lot of names before, you are not affraid of being insulted, what you are affraid of is to take up the charge on a long-held position that is dead wrong – and blows apart a lot of what the left has lived on for a long time.

Barrett, are we reading the same poll?

When I clicked the link to the Rasmussen Report this is what I saw:

    29% FAVOR it
    47% OPPOSE it
    24% NOT SURE

So 71% either oppose it or aren’t sure; only 29% favor it, yet you spin nationalizing the oil industry as a plus for Democrats.

Sounds like a killer issue for Democrats. I hope they run with it. :-D

So let me get this straight. Tiger and QCBaby think that oil companies and OPEC controlling how much oil is produced and refined is better for America. I cnan only surmise that you two would rather see a government “By Exxon and OPEC. Of Exxon and OPEC. And for Exxon and OPEC.”

Keep patting yourself on the back Tiger. That means you only have one free arm to help Bush and Co. keep sticking it to America.

Well, no. What I DON’T favor is for hacks like Phil Hare being in charge of the flow of oil.

Oh sure, if you were a family member, crony or donor you could get gas for $1.24 a gallon—the rest of us would pay $10 a gallon.

I know you have Democrat connections so you could get cheap gas—the rest of us, not so much.

So I’m not really suprised you are in favor of Democrat controlled gasoline—you would be the first in line for cheap gas!

  12. Posted June 19, 2008 at 2:57 pm | Permalink

Just rich people like Tiger would pay $10 a gallon.

So Oracle wants the same government that cannot run the Post Office, cannot run Social Security, cannot operate Medicare efficiently, cannot reasonably fight fraud in welfare, that subsidizes rich farmers and tobacco farmers (and the list goes on), you want this Government to be in charge of the oil companies?

There would be -0- exploration, -0- increase in refinery capacity. I don’t understand how this would work.

One of the major factors for the price being were it is at is that we have little control over our own supply and we are dependent upon foreign countries – and this falls 100% at the feet of liberals and Democrats.

Yet, somehow Oracle turns this into a class-warfare issue?

Millions of senior citizens and disabled people thank the Lord each day that FDR started social security. They thank God that we have medicare. The U.S. postal Service, outside of a few wackos, is a model of efficiency and service. Why doesn’t Tiger want old people to have health insurance and a postal service that consistently delivers their social security check on time every month? Is there anything you don’t hate Tiger?

Settle down Oracle – these programs all have merit, it’s just that government runs them all very inefficiently. I shudder to think of our oil-based economy being in the hands of people that can’t make money inthier own cafeteria (Congress).

We agree that we live in the greatest Country on Earth Tiger. We have the best government. It’s done a damn fine job running these things. It seems we also agree there is always room for improvement. Now I am a capitalist just like you. Most items and services are profit driven. There are some services that are better delivered by government for public welfare and safety reasons.

I agree with most of your thoughts, Oracle, except…

“A damn fine job of running” –

Social Security, which will be bankrupt soon?
USPS, that keeps UPS and FedEx in business?
Education, charter schools and private schools are almost always running at capacity.

I am sure that they screw up many othe rthings, but, there is no use debating the effectiveness of government.

There are services that are better delivered by the government – I agree with entirely – THE MILITARY, otherwise, I have a hard time thinking of anything that the government does better than private enterprise.

That is the hypocrisy of the Republican Party. An oxymoron if you will. You want less government, so you run for a government post. You hate welfare. But you support corporate welfare. My position is let’s have regulation in place before the sleazeballs take advantage. The Republican mantra of “voluntary compliance” is nothing but a license to steal from the public. As Reagan said “Trust but verify.” Who else is going to verify than a good government.

    Oracle –

    Help me understand this…
One cannot be for less government if they run for a political office?
    Huh?
Now there is a strange peice of logic for you…

Who said that I, or any Conservative, was for corporate welfare?
    Who gets corporate welfare?
Exxon paid $41-BILLION in taxes last year – doesn’t sound like corporate welfare, does it?

Can you clarify who specifically gets corporate welfare?
    Thanks.

No ability to expand upon this foundation of liberal politics?

Apparently there is no such thing as ‘Corporate Welfare’ as no one can actually expand upon this cute little liberal “buzz word.”

    Mellon
    Barrett
    Oracle and
TID (I have made him aware of this post)

All have had the opportunity to educate us on this issue, but all, apparently have nothing to say. They have all been specifically invited to this post, are aware of this post and have commented on this site very recently – but all have passed on commenting.

    I can understand why…

    “““““““““`

Gentlemen, please consider yourselves warned – you will be asked to explain your use of cute little liberal catch phrases – and when it is evident that there is no basis for your cute little comments, you will be called on the carpet.

When you cannot respond, we’ll all know what blow-hards you are!
