The Scoundrel recently blogged about how some are thinking that the best way to achieve immigrant reform is to bypass the Congress and do what liberals have been doing for decades in order to get their unpopular agendas pushed through when there was no popular support for legislation—-go to the courts.
Abortion, affirmative action, gay marriage, etc. were all “legislated” through the courts and public sentiment was ignored and trampled.
The New York Times is reporting that a little known component of the recent partial-birth abortion ruling was SCOTUS taking into account “women’s health”. Anti-abortion foes have ripped a page from the liberal’s playbook and are now framing abortion as a women’s health issue— something that causes women to become depressed, distraught and damaging to women’s emotional health. A friend of the court briefing submitted testimony from over 130 women who had abortions and spoke about the trauma it caused in their lives.
So true. Smoking, trans fats, abortion—-all unhealthy for children and other living things.

I’d mention John Edwards charging $55,000.00 to lecture taxpayer financed University of California-Davis about poverty, but that would be a cheap shot, and that would be wrong. However, I did notice that Edwards is on top of the polls in Iowa, which makes me think that Democrat Iowegian-Americans must like a heaping helping of hypocrisy in their presidential candidates.***************************************I used to consider myself a feminist—-but that was back in the day when feminism was about the freedom of women to make choices in their lives. When I was in junior high school, I wanted to be a jet pilot, but unfortunately back then you had to have a Y chromosome to fly jets—-not any more. Feminism was about the ability to make the choice between being a domestic goddess or a heavy equipment operator. This article in Salon rips Michelle Obama for leaving her “dream” job in order to campaign full time for her husband. Remember all the flack that Mrs. Howard Dean caught when she refused to go on the campaign trail? Mrs. Dean was a MD who believed it was more important to keep the home fires burning (they had children at home) and attend to her medical practice than gadfly around the country.
I say brava to both Mrs. Dr. Dean (can’t remember her “real” name) and to Michelle Obama, and to hell with the femnazis who demand we live according to their extreme ideology.
It’s all about choice, baby.

Today The Moline Dispatch reported about two robberies within hours of each other; one at the Rock Island Rudy’s Tacos at 12:10am on Sunday and the other at the 41st St. Moline Walgreens at 5:00pm Sunday. Yeah, all those graduation gifts can really take a hit on your wallet.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Now for your bloggy enjoyment, I present two of the the top WordPress blogs:
A blog that takes catblogging to a whole other level. Even I like this blog, and I’m not that crazy about cats!
This is a blog that we can all relate to. You know what I’m sayin’—-a roommate who leaves dirty dishes in the sink; the co-worker who is growing penicillin in the company fridge; a roommate, platonic or otherwise, who has less than adequate hygiene in the bathroom— well, you know what I’m talking about. This blog features all the little “helpful hints” people use to get the perps to clean up their act—-literally!
