Dazed and Confused

Poor Phil Hare. It appears that his new duties as Specially Selected Congressman are causing him to speak out of both sides of his mouth!

The Quincy Herald Whig reports that at an appearance last week at Titan Wheel International, our Specially Selected Congressman said this about Titan Wheel: “These are the types of corporations and companies that we need to be looking at protecting to make sure we don’t lose them, either through bad governmental decisions or trade  policies that don’t make any sense”.

Unfortunately, later in the day, a news release was issued by Hare’s staff in DC which said U.S. “trade policies have lined the pockets of big corporations at the expense of average families.”

I guess Hare was for business before he was against it, or whatever. But does Big Labor fear its $227,050.00 investment in Hare is for naught? Probably not. As you will see in my post below(We’re Not Gonna Take It), Illinois Democrats are hard at work killing small businesses even as Specially Selected Congressman Hare attempts to kill big business.

Gee, I wonder why more and more businesses are locating out of state and out of country?

Who do the Democrats think will finance their socialist schemes (universal healthcare, etc.)?

I’m sure it’s a mystery to Democrats, even if the rest of us can see the handwriting on the wall.

Update: Don’t expect to see the  Quincy Herald Whig style of “The Emperor Has No Clothes” reporting from QC media. The prime directive of QC media is ” Do No Harm To Democrats.”

UPDATE: Hare’s first quarter campaign fundraising report is in and unsurprisingly, nearly 85% of his money came from big labor PACs. Maybe next time Gianulius could specially select a Congressman for us who knew how to bring in business instead of alienate it. Without any business, there will be no unions. With no jobs there will be no taxpayers to support the Bureaucrats Union. I continue to be amazed by the local Democrat political class that thinks by killing business they are helping unions.

We’re Not Gonna Take It

The wave of Illinois’ future is now. An article in QCTimes shows us the shape of things to come.

Les Baer Custom of Hillsdale, IL is not going to wait for SB 16 and HB873 to pass. He’s moving his gunsmithing shop to LeClaire IA now. The two bills would put him and his 14 employees out of business. These bills, now under consideration in the General Assembly would make it unlawful for any person in Illinois to “knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a semi-automatic assault weapon, an assault weapon attachment, any 50-caliber rifle, or 50-caliber cartridge.”

Mr. Baer does not manufacture Saturday Night Specials, his company builds custom 1911 pistols, AR rifles and custom parts from the design phase. His main market is the competitive shooter and law enforcement (SWAT units and police departments).

Mr. Baer says screw Democrat hegemony, he’s moving to Iowa, where LeClaire city officials welcome him. Baer plans to hire at least 8 more people after the move.

Baer is the canary in the coal mine—-look for more Illinois businesses to flee like rats from a sinking ship to more friendly border states—not that Democrats care as long as their special interest groups are placated.  

Back In the US, Back In the US, Back In the USSR

Just when you thought you knew everything there was to know about the Imus debacle, the overseas press weighs in to further enlighten the masses.

Here’s the lede of a recent Pravda column: “In a clear sign of its intent to reign in dissident American media personalities, and their growing influence in American culture, US War Leaders this past week launched an unprecedented attack upon one of their most politically ‘connected’, and legendary, radio hosts named Don Imus after his threats to release information relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks upon that country.”

Pravda further states that Imus, in a conversation with Tim Russert said, “So those bastards (US War Leaders) want to keep (the soldiers at Walter Reed) secret? Let’s see how they like it if I start talking about their (US War Leader) secrets, starting with 9/11.

Like the rest of us, Pravda can’t figure out why Imus is getting fired now after decades of racial slurs, so they figure it’s all about 9/11. Charlie Sheen is also mentioned as “a popular US movie actor”, who is also set to blow the lid off “US War Leaders” complicity in the 9/11 attacks.

You really need to read the whole hilarious thing, plus the “Speak the truth and shame the devil” forum. to get the flavor.

While most of this column is just a flat-out hoot, I have to agree with the last sentence in the article: “To the American people themselves their (sic) remains no evidence that they know, much less care, about the dire state of their once Free Nation.”
